It's been pretty quiet since Christmas. We have enjoyed days of staying home, relaxing, and playing with our new toys.
I worked on Monday and Tuesday, so David had daddy/daughter time. On Monday, they met friends at the pool (indoor of course) and swam for a while. It was a great way to burn energy, and Leslie got to try out her swimming puppy. It really swims, and she loves it!
On Tuesday Leslie went to school, so David had a day alone with Lindsey. They went to Panera for lunch, and then they went ICE SKATING! Lindsey has been wanting to try for a long time, and so they went. She really enjoyed it and didn't fall down (held onto David though).
It's Wednesday and we are waiting for my parents to arrive to help us ring in the new year, and celebrate Lindsey's birthday.

Merry Christmas
The girls were so excited that Santa left them just what they wanted under the tree, and something extra!
Lindsey asked Santa for a Nintendo DS, and she got games and cases to hold them.
Leslie asked Santa for a swimming puppy, which also walks. She can't wait until summer to take him to the pool. Then she realized she could play with him in the tub!
And Santa left them a new doll house. One that's taller than them! It's 3 stories and perfect for Barbies!
They have spent the morning playing with all their new toys (David too!) We hope your Christmas is a joyful as ours!

Christmas Eve
We got all dressed up and went to mass on Christmas Eve. The girls loved their dressy skirts!

5 o'clock mass is the most crowded, so to make room they ask the kids to sit on the steps at the front of the church. Both Lindsey and Leslie went up. I was VERY worried about how they would behave. Leslie did REALLY well, I was surprised. She stood and sat when she was supposed to, and only fell backwards from the steps twice. About half way through she decided to come back and sit with us. Lindsey did okay, but talked to her friend the whole time. Three times I caught her eye and told her to be quiet, but.... So about 3/4 of the way through she came back to tell me she loved me, and which point I told her I loved her too...and that she wasn't going back up front because she wouldn't stop talking while the priest was.
We came home and had a quick pizza dinner and watched Tinkerbell, which David now loves because Tinkerbell is a Tinker...an engineer in his eyes.
We put out our cookies and milk, and check the status of Santa or Norad. Lindsey finally went to bed at 9, and we relaxed for a while by the tree.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
More snowfall this morning, so we are definitely having a white Christmas!
We went to visit our friends, the Slyman's, this afternoon, and SANTA SHOWED UP! The girls hadn't seen Santa yet, so they were excited to tell him what they wanted. Well, Lindsey was excited. Leslie didn't want to go near him or talk to him. Typical 3 year old. Lindsey asked for a Nintendo DS, and Leslie wants a swimming puppy.

We're off to church this evening, and hopefully an early bedtime. I know they will be up before the sun tomorrow!
Merry Christmas everyone!

A Little Icy
We woke up Friday morning to about 1/4 inch of ice coating everything outside. Lindsey was off from school, and David went into work late. It was very pretty, but on top of the snow we got earlier in the week, and the really cold temperatures this weekend....it's a lot of winter and it's not winter yet!

Girls Weekend (AKA Susie Shopping Trip)
I call it "Susie Shopping Trip" because that's pretty much what we did. When we needed a break we would eat and drink, and occasionally sleep. It was great for Susie to come back to the states for a couple days. We had a GREAT time together, talking and laughing. It was just like old times, except there were no kids or husbands :)

I guess the guys and girls had a good time at home too.
P.S. Thanks for the pictures, Susie!

Portraits of the girls
If you got our Christmas card (if you didn't I probably don't have your address) you saw a couple of the pictures taken of the girls this fall. They were awesome pictures. To view the complete album, click here. I will gladly have any printed (since I own the rights to them$$), just send me the number. They are also in black & white. Too cute!! Some of the expressions are wonderful.
