Rain, Rain...Go AWAY!

We are pretty tired of the rain. It started pouring on Thursday, and pretty much rained all of Friday and Saturday. The temperature was pretty warm, so Leslie went out to play in the little stream along the street.

Then Saturday night tropical storm Ike made it's way to Illinois and we got DUMPED on. The total since Thursday has been reported between 7 - 9 inches. We had a river flowing in our backyard Saturday night and into Sunday...it has calmed but the ground is still saturated. Lucky for us David solved our sump-pump issues a while back so it has been running great. We do have water coming in along one wall in David's workshop in the basement. Luckily there's nothing there to hurt, just a lot of vacuuming to be done.

We took Leslie out to see the backyard Saturday night, and the water was up to her knees. The picture isn't that great because it was dark, but you get the gist of all the water.

We're looking forward to sunny skies the rest of the week, and hopefully a chance to get out of the house!
